## Summary

**Emergency access to device location**. This bill would let law enforcement and 911 call centers request a phone's current or most recently known location from telecom providers when there is consent or an urgent risk of death or serious physical harm. - Families and people in emergencies: Phone location can be shared to help responders find people. Providers must disclose if the device contacted a public safety answering point in the prior 48 hours or an officer reasonably suspects an immediate danger and consent is given or reasonably sought. - Emergency responders and PSAPs: Gives officers and PSAP agents a clear pathway to request near real-time location data and requires the agency to keep a record of each request, who made it, and why disclosure was needed. - Telecom and service providers: Requires providers to provide available location information without delay under the bill's conditions while still complying with any applicable state law. - Consent and next of kin: Sets a priority order for next-of-kin consent starting with spouse, then adult children, parents, siblings, grandparents, and then other relatives, and requires agencies to document how consent was obtained.
