## Summary

**A federal report to guide AI integration into U.S. commercial telecommunications networks.** This bill would require the Commerce Department's Assistant Secretary for Communications and Information to publish a public draft within 1 year and a final report within 18 months that focuses on standards, voluntary use cases, workforce needs, network security, transparency, and recommendations to modernize the Communications Act. - Telecom companies would receive an assessment of international and industry standards and an identification of voluntary, industry-driven use cases to inform AI adoption. - Workers in the telecommunications sector would get recommendations on workforce trends, training, and skills needed as networks adopt AI. - Network operators and the public would get recommendations on using AI to enhance network security, integrity, and availability and on practices to promote transparency and accountability. - The report would recommend how to update the Communications Act and how federal, State, local, and Tribal governments should coordinate. The Assistant Secretary must consult the FCC, NIST, DHS, CISA, trusted operators, academia, public interest groups, and international standards bodies and accept public comments on the draft.
