## Summary

**Requires climate risks to be built into Superfund cleanup decisions.** This bill would add local natural disasters and projected changes from climate change to the factors considered when choosing remedies under CERCLA and would require the President's remedial review to assess whether selected cleanups remain protective given those risks. - Residents near contaminated sites would have cleanup plans explicitly evaluated for resilience to floods, storms, wildfires, and other extreme events that climate change may worsen. - Federal remedial decisionmakers would have to include climate hazard analysis when selecting remedies and when conducting periodic reviews of whether those remedies still protect health and the environment. - CERCLA Section 121 would gain a new statutory consideration and a required protectiveness assessment focused on current and projected extreme weather and disaster risks.
