## Summary

**Automated pre-populated tax returns** would let taxpayers download partially filled federal individual income tax forms using information already reported to the IRS and the Social Security Administration. The bill would require the IRS to provide the data in two formats and impose earlier deadlines for information returns. - Taxpayers would be able to download partially populated individual income tax forms as a printable document and as a file suitable for tax software. They must acknowledge a disclaimer and remain responsible for verifying the information before filing. - Tax-preparation software and preparers would receive standardized data download formats and access to a demonstration server by October 31, 2026 to support automated intake of the pre-populated files. - Employers and other information reporters would face earlier deadlines, requiring information returns and wage and self-employment reporting to reach the IRS and the Social Security Administration by January 31 of the year following the tax year.
