## Summary

**Would ban federal funds for any use of military force in or against the Islamic Republic of Iran until Dec. 31, 2026.** It would stop obligating or spending any appropriated or otherwise available federal funds for military action directed at the Islamic Republic of Iran starting on the law's enactment date. Two narrow exceptions apply. One allows force that is consistent with section 2(c) of the War Powers Resolution. The other allows force necessary to defend the United States or an ally from an imminent attack. In either exception the President must comply with the reporting and other requirements of section 5(b) of the War Powers Resolution.
