## Summary

**Expands the Military Retirement Fund so retired pay is paid to members of all uniformed services, including the NOAA Commissioned Officer Corps and the Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.** It also redraws which departments contribute to and run retirement accounts so the Fund covers those new corps and their liabilities across Defense, Homeland Security, Commerce, and Health and Human Services. - NOAA and Public Health Service retirees: Their retirement pay is moved into newly created, department-specific accounts inside the Military Retirement Fund. That makes them official participants in the Fund's payment and accounting system. - Departments and budgets: The Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, Commerce, and Health and Human Services will make contributions and administer accounts for their uniformed personnel. NOAA and PHS unfunded liabilities are added to the Fund's amortization and liability tracking. - Survivors and benefit rules: Language in survivor and family protection plans is changed from "armed forces" to "uniformed services", applying the same retirement and survivor rules to the newly included corps.
