## Summary

**Creates federal grants to expand maternal mental health services and grow the maternal mental health workforce.** This bill would fund local programs that integrate mental health into maternity care and support training to increase providers in high-need communities. - Families: Pregnant and postpartum people could gain expanded screening, group prenatal and postpartum care, suicide and self-harm prevention programs, and referrals to evidence-based addiction treatment. - Community providers and access: Community-based organizations, freestanding birth centers, and maternity care providers could get grants to integrate mental and behavioral health, run awareness campaigns, set up toll-free hotlines, and improve care coordination. - Workforce and training programs: Grants would expand schools and training, offer scholarships, and prioritize recruiting diverse students and clinicians who plan to serve health professional shortage areas and regions with maternal health disparities. Grants may last up to five years. *It would authorize $25 million per year for the equity grants and $15 million per year for the workforce grants for FY2027–2031, about $40 million per year in federal spending over that period.*
