## Summary

**Eliminates the National Firearms Act’s transfer and making taxes.** This bill would set the $200 transfer tax and the $200 making tax to $0 and adjust related tax-code references with a delayed effective date. - Gun buyers and transferees: the $200 transfer tax would be removed by setting the statutory amount to $0, reducing the per-transfer levy on NFA-regulated transfers. - Firearm makers and manufacturers: the $200 making tax would be removed by setting the statutory amount to $0, changing the cost applied when an NFA item is made. - Tax law and timing: the bill updates a cross-reference in the excise-tax section and adds a provision saying the tax will not apply to any year that begins after the subsection's effective date. The changes take effect the first day of the first calendar quarter that begins after 90 days from enactment.
