## Summary

**Expands veteran access to high-wage manufacturing jobs.** This bill would create a Veterans Manufacturing Employment Program at the Department of Labor to fund state pilots that train, apprentice, and place eligible veterans into manufacturing careers. - Veterans: Funds covered training, on-the-job training, apprenticeships, and training that leads to recognized postsecondary credentials to help eligible veterans secure high-wage, high-skill manufacturing jobs. - States and employers: The Labor Department would award competitive grants to three states to run public-private State Manufacturing Employment Programs. Grant funds may reimburse manufacturers and joint labor-management organizations for training costs and pay for outreach to employers and veterans, including rural veterans. - Federal funding and oversight: The bill authorizes $10 million per year for FY2027–2031 to run the pilot. The Secretary would use up to 2 percent for administration and must review annual reports that include cost per participant, program evaluations, and expansion recommendations. *This would increase federal spending by $50 million over FY2027–2031.*
