## Summary

**Limits ICE holding-room detention to 12 hours nationwide.** This bill would prohibit the Secretary of Homeland Security from detaining anyone in a defined "holding room" for more than 12 hours, and it defines "holding room" to include secure areas used for temporary confinement before intake processing, during institutional appointments such as court or medical visits, at release, during transfers to other facilities, and for removal-related transportation.
