## Summary

**Supplement the Transition Assistance Program with multiyear grants to nonprofits** to provide free career assessments, training, and job placement to transitioning service members and their spouses. This bill would create a Department of Defense pilot to award those grants to qualified private nonprofit providers. - Service members and spouses would get no-cost one-on-one career help, mock interviews, salary negotiation coaching, industry-focused training for credentials, and job placement support. - Rural participants would be reached through required online training capabilities that aim to expand access and lower delivery costs. - Nonprofit providers that have proven career-service records, rigorous evaluations, employer partnerships, and third-party–verified outcomes would be eligible and given priority for multiyear grants. - Grant authority would end 3 years after the pilot begins and the Secretary must report program activities, metrics, and evaluations to congressional defense committees within 6 months after termination.
