## Summary

**A collective Congressional Gold Medal** would honor people who fought for or with the United States against Imperial Japan in the Pacific and who became prisoners of war between December 8, 1941 and August 15, 1945. The bill defines eligible individuals, directs the Secretary of the Treasury to design and strike the medal and give it to the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History for display, allows the Mint to sell bronze duplicates to cover costs, and authorizes use of the United States Mint Public Enterprise Fund to pay medal expenses.
