## Summary

**Would create a commemorative coin program for the Nation’s semiquincentennial that honors over 250 years of American service and sacrifice.** It would direct Treasury to mint three 2028 coins: up to 100,000 $5 gold coins (at least 90% gold), up to 500,000 $1 silver coins (at least 90% silver), and up to 750,000 half-dollar clad coins. Designs must bear 2028, Liberty, In God We Trust, United States of America, and E Pluribus Unum and be selected with input from the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, the Commission of Fine Arts, and the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee. Each sale would include a surcharge of $35 for gold, $10 for silver, and $5 for half-dollars to fund the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s programs like mortgage-free homes for Gold Star families, scholarships, disaster response, and memorial projects. Coins would be legal tender and treated as numismatic items and issued in proof and uncirculated qualities during 2028. *It would be designed to avoid any net cost to the federal government and would not disburse surcharges until Treasury recovers issuance costs.*
