## Summary

**Recover critical materials from contaminated sites** by creating an EPA program that finds nontraditional domestic sources of minerals and helps recover them while supporting cleanup. - State, Tribal, and local governments plus nonprofits and private parties could get contracts, cooperative agreements, or awards to run projects. No single recipient may receive more than $3.0 million. - Communities near contaminated sites would get help identifying contaminated media and solid waste that contain recoverable materials and advancing remediation, with a focus on sites on the National Priorities List. - Researchers and companies could receive support to develop and test processes, methods, and monitoring systems for material recovery and environmental cleanup. - The program aims to strengthen domestic critical material supply chains by targeting materials defined in the Energy Act of 2020 and would cap total assistance at $10.0 million per fiscal year and end after 10 years.
