## Summary

**This bill would require hospitals to collect and quarterly report patients' immigration status.** It pairs intake-form questions with limits on personal data sharing and an annual federal study of uncompensated care. - Hospitals would have to add a status question and a follow-up statement to admission or registration forms. They must request documentary proof if someone says they are a lawful permanent resident and file quarterly reports to the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Secretary of Homeland Security within 30 days after each quarter. - Patients would see a form request and a statement that answers will not affect care or be passed to law enforcement, except for patients suspected of certain criminal offenses or specific immigration crimes. The reports must also record how many patients decline to answer. - Federal agencies and Congress would get aggregated counts by status category each quarter and an annual report starting in 2026 on uncompensated care costs, hospitals' funding needs, and service impact. Regulations may be issued but may not require patient names or other personal identifying information.
