## Summary

**This bill would create a _lawful-carry exemption for firearms on specified federal lands_.** It says people who are not otherwise barred from possessing firearms could carry on certain federal units so long as they follow the gun laws of the state where the land sits. - Visitors and recreationists: Would allow people to possess firearms in units managed by 8 named federal agencies when state law permits and the person is not legally prohibited. This applies only in areas open to visitors and invitees. - State governments and gun owners: Makes compliance with the host state law the key test for lawful possession inside those federal units. Federal prohibition in 18 U.S.C. § 930 would not apply if the bill's conditions are met. - Federal land managers and law enforcement: Creates an "exempted area" defense that could change how firearms are regulated and enforced on these federal lands. Agencies listed include the Park Service, Forest Service, National Wildlife Refuge System, Bureau of Land Management and others.
