## Summary

**Keeps telework options for federal employees who are military spouses.** The Support Military Families Act would exempt executive branch employees who are spouses of members of the armed forces from any requirement to return to full-time in-person work if they were eligible to telework before January 20, 2025. It would also require the Comptroller General to report within 180 days of enactment on how many employees this affects, their average one-way commute in miles, and the estimated economic impact of forcing in-person work, including costs to fill vacancies and lost productivity. The bill uses the terms "armed forces" and "civil service" as defined in 5 U.S.C. 2101.
