## Summary

**Expands permissible uses of DHS Nonprofit Security Grants.** This bill would let nonprofit grant recipients use funds to hire onsite security staff and off-duty police, and let grants pay staff to apply for and manage the awards up to 5% of each grant. - Nonprofit organizations: Would be able to spend grant money on onsite security personnel and on hiring off-duty police officers to guard their sites. - Grant application and management staff: Grants could cover personnel who prepare and administer applications, but those costs may not exceed 5% of the grant. - Department of Homeland Security program: Clarifies that the Nonprofit Security Grant Program can fund both the application process and the administration of awarded funds.
