## Summary

**Makes AI-generated campaign lies and fake fundraising explicitly illegal.** This bill would amend the Federal Election Campaign Act to say content created in whole or in part with artificial intelligence counts as fraudulent misrepresentation or fraudulent solicitation of funds, and it would widen who the law covers so more actors can be held to those prohibitions. - Candidates, political parties, and real or fictitious political committees, plus their employees or agents, would be explicitly covered by the misrepresentation and solicitation bans. - Using AI to impersonate campaign authority or to solicit donations would fall under the same fraud prohibitions by inserting language that covers content ‘‘generated in whole or in part with the use of artificial intelligence (generative AI).’’ - The prohibitions would apply to any person and for any purpose, not just actions aimed at damaging other candidates, broadening the types of misleading AI content that the statute targets.
