## Summary

**Highlighting postpartum health disparities that hit mothers of color hardest.** H. Res. 1268 would designate May 3–9, 2026, as National Postpartum Awareness Week for Communities of Color and draw attention to facts such as Black and Native women being 3 to 4 times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes and that more than two-thirds of pregnancy-related deaths occur during the postpartum period.
