## Summary

**This resolution would recognize and honor the people and organizations that create and maintain LGBTQIA+ community spaces and commend partnerships that support marginalized groups.** It would acknowledge the historical role of those spaces—from the Stonewall protests, to GLAAD, ACT UP, and ballroom culture—note a reported 37 percent decline in bars and nightclubs that historically served the community and much higher violent-victimization rates for sexual and gender minorities, and encourage continued congressional support and education.
