## Summary

**Blocks institutions that employ unauthorized aliens from receiving federal student aid and makes E-Verify mandatory for Title IV eligibility.** This bill would add a new condition to the Higher Education Act and create a regular DHS monitoring and notification role to enforce it. - Students and families: Students at colleges found to employ unauthorized workers could lose access to federal student loans and grants if their institution becomes ineligible for Title IV programs. - Colleges and staff: Institutions would need to participate in the E-Verify Program to keep federal student assistance and could lose funds if they violate INA section 274A. - Federal agencies: The Department of Homeland Security would check E-Verify participation every 6 months and must notify the Education Secretary within 10 days of a violation or nonparticipation.
