## Summary

**Allow SNAP benefits to buy hot, ready-to-eat foods.** This bill would let people use Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits to purchase hot foods or hot food products ready for immediate consumption. It would allow consumption at home or immediately and would continue to exclude alcoholic beverages and tobacco. - Low-income households could use SNAP to buy hot meals and ready-to-eat foods for immediate or at-home consumption. - Stores and food vendors could accept SNAP for hot ready-to-eat foods, but offers would be limited so that hot foods make up no more than 50 percent of a seller's total gross sales. The bill also explicitly counts hot ready-to-eat foods as allowable accessory items under the program.
