## Summary

**Permanently extends an exemption from the under-the-hood portion of the pre-trip vehicle inspection skills test for certain school bus drivers.** The bill would codify the Federal Register exemption published on December 2, 2024 and preserve its exact terms and conditions. - Eligible school bus drivers: Would continue to be exempt from the under-the-hood part of the pre-trip inspection skills test under the codified terms. - Participating States: Would have to submit annual reports for six years showing, for each year, the number of drivers who obtained a commercial driver’s license under the exemption.
