## Summary

**Repeal of the EPA methane reduction program for oil and gas.** This bill would repeal Section 136 of the Clean Air Act, end the methane emissions and waste reduction incentive program for petroleum and natural gas systems, and rescind any unobligated funds that had been made available under that section. - Petroleum and natural gas operators would lose the Section 136 incentive program that supported reducing methane emissions. - Petroleum and natural gas facilities that emit 25,000 metric tons or more of greenhouse gases per year would no longer be subject to the methane emissions charge created under Section 136. - Federal funding tied to Section 136 would be reduced because any unobligated balances previously made available under that section would be rescinded.
