## Summary

**Create civilian job pathways for recruits medically disqualified from military service.** This bill would build DoD-wide programs to refer those recruits to civilian jobs, apprenticeships, and training tied to the defense industrial base and related fields. - Medically disqualified entry-level service members would be offered a pathway into civilian DoD jobs or referrals to outside opportunities, using the Air Force DRIVE program as an acceptable model and baseline. - A new Section 996 would require the Secretary of Defense to provide information and referrals to jobs in the defense industrial base, cybersecurity and intelligence support, defense research and development, and national emergency and disaster preparedness. - The Secretary of the Navy would add Military Sealift Command career information and shipbuilder workforce training details to Transition Assistance Program materials for Navy personnel. - The Secretary must report to the House and Senate Armed Services Committees within one year on how these placement, referral, and Navy transition actions are being implemented.
