## Summary

**Boost CBP staffing at ports of entry** to meet workload targets and strengthen drug interdiction, paired with port infrastructure reviews and tighter reporting on officer redeployments. - CBP officers and support staff would face a major hiring drive. The Commissioner must hire, train, and assign 1,000 new CBP officers above attrition each fiscal year until staffing meets the Workload Staffing Model, and may hire technicians and Enterprise Services mission support. A Comptroller General review is required if hiring targets are missed. - Ports and drug interdiction would get focused planning and equipment reviews. A Ports of Entry Infrastructure Enhancement Report due within 90 days must identify improvements to interdict opioids and precursors, explain why some ports lack certain technology, and list detection and safety equipment needs. - Visibility and limits on redeployments would increase. CBP must provide quarterly reports on temporary duty assignments with officer counts, ports, duration, costs, and effects on reimbursable services, give 10 days' notice before non-emergency redeployments, and include the Workload Staffing Model in its annual staffing report.
