## Summary

**Expands federal support for employee ownership** by creating a dedicated Office of Employee Ownership and new advisory bodies to promote and strengthen employee stock ownership plans and worker cooperatives. It would add an Advocate for Employee Ownership and increase advisory representation within ERISA to better coordinate policy, outreach, and dispute assistance. - Workers: Employees would gain a federal Advocate and an Office that provide public education, help resolve ESOP disputes, and solicit input on rules that affect employee ownership. - ESOP sponsors and providers: Companies with ESOPs, ESOP providers, and eligible worker‑owned cooperatives would get clearer representation through a new seven‑member advisory council and two designated seats for employee ownership organizations on the ERISA advisory body; the ERISA council would grow by two members. - Department of Labor and policy making: The Department would house a Director-led Office to run the Employee Ownership Initiative, recruit staff, and maintain an advisory council that meets at least four times a year and issues annual recommendations.
