## Summary

**Preserve Critical Access Hospital status for rural hospitals in mountainous or secondary-road areas and shift ambulance distance rules to 15 miles starting January 1, 2026.** This bill would restore and extend a 15-mile standard for hospitals that previously met the mountainous-terrain or secondary-road distance test and would change ambulance distance rules for eligible areas.
