## Summary

**Creates commemorative coins honoring the U.S. Foreign Service and American diplomacy.** The bill would require the Secretary of the Treasury to mint three coins for issuance during 2029: up to 50,000 five-dollar gold coins (8.359 grams, 0.850-inch diameter, at least 90% gold), up to 400,000 one-dollar silver coins (26.73 grams, 1.500-inch diameter, at least 90% silver), and up to 750,000 half-dollar clad coins (11.34 grams, 1.205-inch diameter). Designs must depict diplomacy and the Foreign Service and include the coin value, the year 2029, Liberty, In God We Trust, United States of America, and E Pluribus Unum. Design selection would involve consultation with the Association for Diplomatic Studies and Training and the Commission of Fine Arts and review by the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee. Coins may be sold in uncirculated and proof qualities at a price that covers face value, a per-coin surcharge, and minting costs. Surcharges are $35 for the $5 coin, $10 for the $1 coin, and $5 for the half-dollar and would be paid to the Association for Diplomatic Studies and Training to support collection, curation, and dissemination of diplomatic history. The Association would be subject to audit for amounts received and the Secretary must ensure minting does not result in any net cost to the U.S. Government and may not disburse surcharge funds until all Mint costs are recovered. *This bill would be structured to avoid any net cost to the federal government.*
