## Summary

**Local food purchasing program** that would fund state, Tribal, territorial, and local governments to buy seafood, produce, meat, eggs, dairy, and poultry from nearby producers and distribute it to schools and hunger-relief groups. It aims to bolster food security, strengthen regional supply chains, and expand markets for covered producers. - Families and schools: Schools and food banks would receive more locally sourced nutritious food for school meal programs and hunger-relief distribution, increasing access to fresh produce and protein for communities in need. - Producers and rural communities: Covered producers located inside a unit or within 400 miles of delivery would get priority, and at least 51% of purchased value must come from covered producers, with funds available for aggregation, distribution, and food-safety upgrades. - Tribal governments and States: Funding is noncompetitive, with 10% of annual allocations reserved for Tribal governments, 1% for each State, and the remainder formula-based; up to 25% of an allocation may be used for administration and technical assistance, and at least 35% of those admin dollars must fund technical assistance. *Would provide mandatory funding of $200 million annually from the Commodity Credit Corporation starting in FY2025 and authorizes $200 million per year for FY2025–FY2029.*
