## Summary

**A federal study on microplastics in food and water.** This bill would direct the Secretary of Health and Human Services, acting through the Commissioner of Food and Drugs, to study how people are exposed to microplastics in food and water and to examine effects on children's health, the endocrine system, cancer, chronic illness, reproductive health, and any other areas the Secretary determines are important. - Families and children: Families would receive federal findings on exposure pathways and potential impacts on children's health. - Patients and clinicians: The study would analyze links between microplastics and cancer, chronic disease, endocrine function, and reproductive health. - Policymakers: The Secretary would report findings and provide recommendations for legislative or administrative action to Congress within 1 year after enactment. *Would not authorize new funding and does not create regulatory or enforcement programs.*
