## Summary

**Quad Economic Security Working Group** would create a forum for the U.S., Japan, Australia, and India to coordinate on securing critical supply chains and protecting key infrastructure while countering economic coercion. It would hold crisis simulations and act as a collective emergency response mechanism for sectors tied to national security. - For Quad and regional partners: Authorizes negotiations to establish a working group to secure supply chains, safeguard critical infrastructure, and counter economic coercion. It encourages engagement with Indo-Pacific partners and capacity-building for port infrastructure and undersea cables. - For U.S. agencies and national security sectors: The United States would be represented on the Working Group by an official at the level of Deputy Assistant Secretary of State or the equivalent. The Working Group would serve as a forum for coordination, emergency communication, and crisis readiness. - For Congress and oversight: The Secretary of State must submit reports identifying which supply chains are critical to national security and which Indo-Pacific countries are considered regional partners when negotiations start. If negotiations begin, the Secretaries of State and Commerce must jointly report within one year and then annually until negotiations conclude. - Funding: No additional funds are authorized; the activities must be carried out using amounts otherwise authorized for appropriation.
