## Summary

**National security risks from consumer routers and modems.** The bill directs the Department of Commerce, working with the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, to study cybersecurity vulnerabilities in consumer routers, modems, and combined modem-router devices and deliver findings to Congress within 1 year. - The Department of Commerce must lead a focused study on national security risks and cybersecurity vulnerabilities in consumer networking equipment. - The study must examine devices designed, manufactured, or supplied by persons owned by, controlled by, or subject to the influence of China, Iran, North Korea, or Russia. - Results must be submitted to the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee within 1 year.
