## Summary

**Protecting ACIP members' independence.** This bill would tighten when members of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices could be removed and increase reporting when a member is terminated. - ACIP members would only be removable "for cause" after notice and an opportunity for a hearing, with "for cause" defined as inefficiency, neglect of duty, or malfeasance. - If the Secretary of Health and Human Services terminates a member for cause, the Secretary would have to send a written justification to the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions and the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and make that justification public within 1 day. - For members who are also Federal employees, a termination for cause would apply only to their ACIP membership and would not affect the protections they hold as Federal employees. - The Secretary would immediately revert ACIP membership to how it stood on June 8, 2025, and those reinstated members would finish the terms they had as of June 9, 2025. Future ACIP vacancies would be filled from individuals recommended by the Comptroller General of the United States.

## Provisions PRIA read
