## Summary

**Duplicative or overlapping federal programs.** This bill would require the Comptroller General to analyze every committee‑reported bill for risks that it creates a new duplicative or overlapping feature, send the findings to the Congressional Budget Office Director and the reporting committee, and publish the information on GAO’s website. - Committees and lawmakers would receive GAO findings that name any new program or office, identify the bill section that creates it, and point to the prior GAO report that flagged the overlap. - The Comptroller General would, to the extent practicable, determine the risk of new duplication or overlap for each covered bill and post the results on GAO’s website. - The Congressional Budget Office Director could include GAO’s information as a supplement to CBO cost estimates and may submit that supplement if GAO provides its findings after the CBO estimate. - The requirement would take effect on the earlier of 60 days after the Office of Management and Budget updates a specified website or when a new Congress begins after one year.
