## Summary

**Bars pretrial release for people charged with a felony who have a prior violent-felony conviction where they served at least 30 days in State or Federal custody.** The bill would treat those defendants as a danger to the community and make them ineligible for release before trial. - People who are adults or juveniles charged as adults would be ineligible for pretrial release if they are charged with a felony and have a prior felony conviction for a crime of violence with at least 30 days served. - The 30-day requirement counts only time served in a State or Federal correctional facility. Time spent in pretrial detention without a conviction does not count toward the 30 days. - Judicial officers would be required to find that these defendants pose a danger and deny release when all three conditions are met.
