## Summary

**Treat National Grasslands the same as other National Forest System land for grazing.** This bill would amend section 402(a) of the Federal Land Policy and Management Act by replacing the phrase "lands within National Forests in the sixteen contiguous Western States" with "National Forest System land" as defined in the Forest and Rangeland Renewable Resources Planning Act. That change brings National Grasslands into the FLPMA category used for grazing leases and permits and aligns ranchers on grasslands with permittees on other Federal land. The amendment would not change other FLPMA provisions for national grasslands, and it would not affect title III of the Bankhead-Jones Farm Tenant Act or section 11 of the Public Rangelands Improvement Act of 1978.
