## Summary

**Would rename the Department of Defense to the Department of War.** It would require the Department to update physical signage, government websites, stationery, printed materials, and digital media and to pay those costs by reallocating existing travel budgets and, if necessary, by drawing from the military departments' travel budgets. - Department of Defense and military departments: would fund renaming work from their travel budgets instead of requesting new appropriations. - Communications and facilities staff: would need to change signs, websites, stationery, printed materials, and digital content to reflect the new name. - Secretary of Defense: would have to report to Congress within one year on the total amounts obligated or expended for these covered costs.
