## Summary

**Keeps SNAP benefits flowing during a fiscal year 2026 funding lapse.** This bill would authorize emergency Treasury funding so the Secretary of Agriculture can continue Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) payments if FY2026 appropriations for the Department of Agriculture are not yet enacted. It also covers retroactive payment of any missed benefits from September 30, 2025 until the bill is enacted. - Families and low-income households: Would avoid interruptions in SNAP benefits and receive retroactive payments for any missed benefits between September 30, 2025 and enactment. - Department of Agriculture / Secretary: Would be able to draw whatever sums are necessary from Treasury funds not otherwise appropriated to pay SNAP until FY2026 appropriations are in place. *This bill would authorize unspecified spending from the Treasury to fund SNAP benefits during any FY2026 appropriations gap.*
