## Summary

**Ensures Capitol Police officers, employees, and qualifying contractors are paid during a government funding lapse.** This bill would authorize fiscal year 2026 Treasury funds to cover standard pay, allowances, pay differentials, benefits, and contractor payments for work performed during the lapse. It would require those expenditures to be charged to the applicable Capitol Police appropriation once a regular appropriation or a continuing appropriations measure is enacted, make the authority retroactive to September 30, 2025, and limit availability until enactment of a Capitol Police appropriation, enactment of a legislative-branch appropriation that omits the Capitol Police, or September 30, 2026.
