## Summary

**Requires stronger union transparency and tighter limits on using member dues for politics and other non-bargaining purposes.** The bill would force unions to give members clear written and online notices about member rights and to get yearly written permission before using dues for activities outside bargaining. - Workers and union members would receive a copy of the law and plain-language summaries, including Title VII religious-accommodation rights and Beck rights. New hires would get the notice within 30 days of joining and existing members would get it within 1 year, with annual updates. - Labor organizations would have to certify compliance with signed forms, first within 180 days and then by 18 months and annually. Unions with websites would need a homepage link titled "Union Member Rights and Officer Responsibilities Under the LMRDA." - Unions would be barred from using dues, fees, or assessments for anything not directly related to bargaining or contract administration unless each employee or nonmember gives written consent after at least 35 days' notice. That consent would expire within 1 year and would not auto-renew. - The Secretary of Labor would be required to issue implementing regulations within 180 days.
