## Summary

**This bill would create the Responsible Wildland Fire Recovery Act to make parties hit by wildland fires caused by Department of Agriculture management on National Forest System land eligible for 100 percent federal funding to remediate direct and indirect damages.** It would also let the Secretary of Agriculture waive cash matching requirements to speed recovery projects for States, Indian Tribes, localities, and individuals. - States, Indian Tribes, local governments, and individuals in affected areas could receive full federal coverage for both direct and indirect remediation costs through authorized Federal recovery programs. - The Secretary of Agriculture could waive covered cash matching requirements for projects responding to a covered wildland fire, removing the usual matching-fund hurdle to expedite cleanup and restoration. - The rules apply only to fires the Secretary determines resulted from management activities on National Forest System land and cover wildland fires, prescribed fires, and resulting watershed damage.
