## Summary

**Requires callers to disclose when AI is used in robocalls or text messages.** The bill would add a rule that any automated call or message that uses artificial intelligence to emulate a person must begin with an upfront disclosure and it defines which calls and texts count as robocalls and text messages under the law. - Families and consumers would see or hear a clear, up-front statement when AI is generating or voicing a call or message so recipients know it is not a live person. - Companies and services that send automated calls or texts using AI would have to include the disclosure at the start, while calls or texts that require substantial human intervention are excluded. - If AI is used to impersonate an individual or entity with intent to defraud, harm, or wrongfully obtain value, the bill would double the maximum civil forfeitures and criminal fines that apply now; those higher penalties would apply to violations after the bill becomes law.
