**Would reestablish the Presidential Fitness Test as the center of a national youth fitness push.** This bill would create a President's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition to advise the President, design school-based Presidential challenges and awards, and coordinate public and private partners to expand youth sports and activity. - Families and schools — promotes school-based Presidential challenges and awards and sets bold fitness goals for American youth. Amounts appropriated to the Presidential Youth Fitness Program may be used to establish the Presidential Fitness Test in U.S. schools. - Governance and operations — creates a Council of up to 30 presidential appointees serving 2-year terms and an Executive Director to manage daily operations. Members serve without compensation but may receive travel reimbursement. - Federal coordination and goals — requires executive departments to provide information and assistance as allowed and directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services to provide funding and administrative support subject to appropriations. The Council must develop strategies to expand participation, partner with athletes and organizations, and address childhood obesity and sedentary lifestyles as threats to future workforce and military readiness.
