## Summary

**Expands help for small water systems and underserved communities.** This bill would extend technical assistance for small public water systems through 2031 and allow States to apply for drinking water assistance on behalf of underserved and unincorporated communities identified with county coordination. - Residents of underserved or unincorporated communities: Could gain access to Safe Drinking Water Act assistance when a State applies for them, making it easier for these communities to be eligible for program support. - Small public water systems: Would keep access to federally authorized technical assistance for a longer period, with the authorization extended to 2031. - State and county governments: States would have new authority to act on behalf of certain communities and would coordinate with counties to identify those communities for program eligibility.
