## Summary

**Authorizes recognized veterans service organizations to take part in Department of Defense Transition Assistance Program preseparation counseling to promote VA benefits.** The presentation must be standardized, reviewed and approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs, and limited to one hour. - Transitioning service members: Get a standardized, up to 1-hour briefing about VA benefits and how a VSO can help file a VA claim. - Veterans service organizations: VSOs recognized under 38 U.S.C. 5902 or individuals recognized under 38 U.S.C. 5903 may participate where available, but the presentation may not encourage joining a particular VSO. - Department of Veterans Affairs and Congress: VA must develop the presentation with VSOs that provide claims assistance, submit it to House and Senate Veterans' Affairs Committees at least 90 days before use, and deliver an annual report listing participating VSOs, attendance counts, and any recommendations.
