## Summary

**Competitive HUD grants to boost local affordable housing planning and implementation.** This bill would create a HUD-run, competitive grant program to fund planning and non-construction implementation activities that aim to increase housing supply, affordability, accessibility, and coordination with transportation. - Regional planning agencies would get funds mainly for planning work. They must use grants to develop housing plans, update zoning codes, expand inspection capacity, and reduce local barriers to housing supply and affordability. - States, insular areas, metropolitan cities, and urban counties would use grants to implement housing strategies and plans. The program is meant to support location-efficient development and improve accessibility for people with disabilities.
