## Summary

**Creates commemorative coins honoring the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial and the service and sacrifice of U.S. firefighters.** It would authorize three coins: up to 50,000 five-dollar gold coins, up to 400,000 one-dollar silver coins, and up to 750,000 half-dollar clad coins. Each coin must show the year 2029 and inscriptions such as Liberty, In God We Trust, United States of America, and E Pluribus Unum. The Secretary of the Treasury chooses designs after consulting the Commission of Fine Arts and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and with review by the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee. Issuance is limited to uncirculated and proof qualities during a one-year period beginning January 1, 2029. Coins are sold at a price equal to face value plus a surcharge and the Treasury's costs, with surcharges of $35 for the $5 coin, $10 for the $1 coin, and $5 for the half-dollar, and those surcharges are paid to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation after Treasury recovers costs. *The Treasury must ensure the program does not create a net cost to the federal government.*
