## Summary

**This bill would create a time-limited program that allows Federal law enforcement officers to purchase firearms their agency retired.** The General Services Administration would set up the program within one year. An officer in good standing, including a retired officer, could buy a firearm during the six-month period after the agency declares it surplus. Agencies must sell retired firearms at salvage value based on age and condition. The bill follows the federal legal definition of "firearm" and excludes certain machineguns. It specifies no funding and leaves sales management to the issuing agencies.
